The story

Sold as a pair. Classic bistro chairs with steam-bent loop backs, the kind that sat in every café in Vienna. Both seats were blown out; both are now freshly hand-caned.

What we did

  1. Seats re-caned by hand, strand by strand
  2. Loose bends re-glued and clamped
  3. Finish cleaned and waxed

Honest notes

The dark finish is worn through to the beech in a few spots on the front rails, where a hundred years of heels have rested.
